What I Want for My Birthday (HINT HINT): Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition

I am salivating over Avalon Hill's anniversary edition of the classic boardgame Axis & Allies:

If anyone who loves me wants to get me something I will cherish until I give up the ghost, this would be a great gift (hint, hint, Mom). I will change my will to leave it to whomever grants me this boon; don't think I'm kidding.

To paraphrase Ogre from a certain movie from 1984:

No, I haven't played it before. What's it like?

I seem to remember a certain red-headed friend of mine enjoying it quite a bit.

I'm not a nerd; I'm a geek!

I distinctly remember the last time I played that game was January of 1993 at Andy Phoenix's house. It was right before you left for Costa Rica and we joked about how you were "leaving the country to boycott the Clinton Administration". Oh, those were the good old days. You can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but... oh wait, that's not it. You can't lead a horse to water, but... no that's not it either. If a tree falls in the woods, does... son-of-a... There are just too many cliches out there.

Is it possible to be a nerd AND a geek?

After looking at the games the website advertises, I am now salivating over Risk Godstorm. I even found a website that sells it at a great price.

Thanks a lot, Mac. ;)

(I do hope you get your wish.)
