My good friend Norman Bishop Sandridge, PhD, ran in the Mercedes Half Marathon on Feb. 10th in Birmingham in memory of my father. He sent me this photograph today. My father has been honored.

Awwww. What a touching gesture. I am sure your father is pleased.
Isn't it a great blessing to have true friends? I'm happy for you.

Love the logo. That could have been said of my mother as well. Thank you for sharing.

Norman asked if I was going to make a shirt for my grandmother, and I decided not to. Not because I didn't want to, because I did... but my conscience told me that she was always such a quiet person and would not have wanted something like that on display. I still run for her, every time I go out, but that race meant a lot to me... because 5 minutes before it started I wept just a little thinking of her. And even though it was painful around mile 9, I had to keep going. I think I will always keep going. I never ran so hard those first 8 miles. I just wish I would've done better those last 5, but I think I just amped myself up too much too early.

I'm sorry their both gone, but the memories will last forever.
